The Making of a Mascot

I wrote this feature about Argie, UWF’s mascot, and his evolution throughout the years for the Fall 2017 50th Anniversary Edition of Connection Magazine. This biannual publication targeted alumni and friends of the university.

UWF Founders Week

We created this full page ad to raise awareness for the university’s inaugural Founders Week. The copy introduced the new weeklong celebration and gave details about how to get involved on the Day of Service.

Viewbook Article

This article featured UWF’s football head coach, Pete Shinnick, and celebrated the team’s appearance in the NCAA Division II National Championship Game—making history by becoming the fastest startup to reach the NCAA Division II playoffs and national title game. This was included in the 2018 Admissions Viewbook targeting prospective students and their influencers.

Pensacola Sports & UWF Athletics Press Release

I wrote and edited hundreds of press releases while in the Office of Institutional Communications. Here’s an example of an announcement covering a $100,000 gift commitment from Pensacola Sports and the Pensacola Sports Foundation. This was picked up in multiple local news outlets.
